LV= life insurance comes with member benefits that LV= says include free access to its Doctor Services and a Legal Advice Line, and LV= is also advertising e-Gift cards worth up to £400 for some applications made online directly on lv.com. Which of these you would actually get depends on the product you hold, how you applied and when, as this guide sets out from LV='s own pages, read on 27 October 2026.

If another insurer's extras might suit you better, an FCA-authorised broker can talk them through, and a free call-back is yours for the asking via the form on this page.

Which member benefits does LV= list, and which come with life cover?

In one of its bullet points, LV='s life insurance page (undated) promises "You’ll get free access to LV= Doctor Services", plus a Legal Advice Line, "alongside other LV= membership benefits". The fuller list is on LV='s member benefits page, which names six items:

  • Care Navigator;
  • Member Discounts;
  • Member Support Fund;
  • Voting Rights, which let members vote at general meetings of the company;
  • the Legal Advice Line;
  • LV= Doctor Services.

Two of those, the Legal Advice Line and Doctor Services, carry the note "Product eligibility applies" on that page. LV= introduces the whole list by saying "Depending on your policy, additional support services may be available to you as well as member benefits." So treat the list as what LV= offers across its membership, then check which entries your own policy opens.

LV='s existing-customer page confirms the point for Doctor Services: "Depending on the product you hold and when you took it out with us you may be entitled to LV= Doctor Services", where you can reach a qualified professional about mental health concerns. It mentions the Member Support Fund beside it, as help for the moments in life when you might need some extra support. What either service includes in practice, such as opening hours, who in the household can use it and any limit on use, is set by LV=, so the current details are best checked with LV= for your policy.

Are the LV= Doctor Services and Legal Advice Line free?

LV= says "free access" on its life insurance page. That is LV='s wording about access, and it sits alongside the eligibility notes above, so the more useful question is whether your policy qualifies, and LV='s pages point to one check:

  • Look at the product name on your policy documents, and the date you started it, because LV= ties Doctor Services to both.

For what the policy itself pays out and when it will not, see the LV= life insurance overview.

How does the LV= e-Gift card of up to £400 work?

LV='s terms for applications made from 17 August 2026 (no closing date is printed) say that if you apply online for its Life Insurance or Life & Critical Illness Plan and LV= accepts the application, you "may be eligible" for an e-Gift card of up to £400, after LV= receives your sixth monthly premium. The card's value is set by the policy's first monthly premium, on this scale LV= prints:

First monthly premiume-Gift card
£5 to £9.99£15
£10 to £19.99£30
£20 to £29.99£60
£30 to £49.99£100
£50 to £59.99£150
£60 to £69.99£200
£70 to £79.99£250
£80 to £99.99£300
£100 or more£400

So the £400 is the top band, for a first premium of £100 a month or more; a premium of £5 to £9.99 leads to £15. A bigger gift goes with a bigger premium, so the cover is the thing to judge first and the card second.

LV= says it aims to email the card within 28 days of receiving the sixth premium, that you pick from a selection in an online portal, each with its own terms, and that a card you have not redeemed within 90 days of the email can no longer be redeemed. The card can be spent "against many of the biggest brands"; the selection is LV='s to change, so whether a particular shop such as Amazon is among them is something to confirm in the portal. LV= adds that there is no cash alternative and the cards cannot be refunded or transferred. LV= may alter the terms or end the offer whenever it chooses.

Who does not qualify for the LV= gift card or voucher?

LV= states that the offer is available only to customers who apply "online directly from www.lv.com". It then says that anyone who applies by telephone via LifeSearch, through a financial adviser, or through its online affiliate partners or comparison websites "will not be eligible to receive an e-Gift card". Other conditions in the same terms:

  • the sixth monthly premium must be paid in full on its due date, and a missed or part payment ends eligibility;
  • the offer is not available to cashback customers, meaning those who receive a cash sum for buying through an LV= partner affiliate website;
  • a declined or cancelled application does not qualify, nor does anyone who previously cancelled an LV= Life Insurance or Life & Critical Illness plan;
  • it is one card per policy sold, limited to two per household in 12 months, and on a joint policy it goes to the first named policyholder.

An application made through an adviser falls under the "via a Financial Adviser" wording, so a policy arranged through a broker, including one you reach through this page, does not earn the e-Gift card. What a broker can do is set LV='s cover and extras beside other insurers' and beside the premium, and the form here sets up that call.

Whether LV= runs a refer-a-friend reward on life policies is a question for LV=, and the broker can also go through which insurers currently offer one when they ring you.

What are LV= My Rewards, discounts and gym perks, and are they for life customers?

My Rewards is LV='s loyalty programme of discounts, competitions and offers, and LV= says access comes "As soon as you have an active LV= car or home insurance policy". Its terms, last updated 9 July 2026, name car or home cover as the qualifying products and describe My Rewards as a discretionary benefit kept separate from your policy terms, so a life policy on its own does not open it. Member Discounts, listed on the member benefits page, is a separate item, and what it includes for a life customer is for LV= to confirm.

On gym membership, none of the six items on LV='s member benefits page is a gym membership or fitness discount by name, and whether Member Discounts holds one is for LV= to say. If a gym or activity reward is what you want, Aviva's gym discount, Vitality's gym and partner discounts and Royal London's Helping Hand are covered on their own pages.

LV= also describes itself as a mutual and says on its life insurance page: "We’re pleased to share £100m in bonuses with eligible members in 2025". Whether a particular policy counts as member-qualifying is shown on LV='s list of member-qualifying products, so check that list rather than assuming.

Should the extras decide which policy you buy?

The cover, the term, the exclusions and the premium are what a claim depends on, and the extras are separate from the policy conditions: LV= says the gift card terms "are separate from your policy conditions". Member benefits vary by policy, and LV= can withdraw the gift card offer at any time. Life insurance discounts, cashback and gift cards lays out how other insurers' offers compare, and the guide to costs and quotes covers what moves the price.

If you already hold an LV= policy, the app, account and contact routes are on the LV= life insurance app page. If your reason for reading is whether to keep the policy, cancelling an LV= life policy covers what stopping involves. Other insurers' extras are part of what a broker can walk through on a call-back, and this page's form is the way to book one.

Frequently asked questions

Do LV= life insurance perks include an Amazon voucher?

LV= offers an e-Gift card of up to £400 on qualifying online applications, chosen from a selection in its portal. Which retailers are in the selection is for LV= to confirm, and it may change the list at any time.

Does LV= give a gift card if I buy through a broker or comparison site?

No. LV='s terms for applications from 17 August 2026 limit the e-Gift card to those who apply online directly on lv.com, and say applications by telephone through LifeSearch, through an adviser or through comparison websites are not eligible.

When would the LV= e-Gift card arrive?

LV= says it aims to email it within 28 days of receiving your sixth monthly premium. Redeem it within 90 days of that email or it can no longer be redeemed.

Can I use LV= My Rewards with a life policy?

LV= says My Rewards opens once you hold an active LV= car or home insurance policy. A life policy is not named as a qualifying product in its terms.

Does LV= life insurance come with a gym membership?

None of the six items on LV='s member benefits page is a gym membership or fitness discount by name, though what Member Discounts contains is LV='s to confirm. Aviva, Vitality and Royal London advertise fitness extras, each covered on its own page here.
