To contact Vitality about a life insurance policy, the plan provisions list a phone line (0345 601 0072), an email address, a postal address and a secure message sent through the Member Zone, in the copy archived on 21 February 2026. Contact details move, so check your own certificate of insurance and Vitality's current pages before relying on any of them. With Member Zone, points and several phone lines to learn, you may prefer a first conversation with an FCA-authorised broker, arranged without charge by the form on this page.

How do you contact Vitality about a life policy?

The VitalityLife Personal Protection Plan Provisions, in the copy archived on 21 February 2026, say: "You can also email us at lifeenquiries@vitality.co.uk or call us on 0345 601 0072. If you call us, please have your plan number to hand." They add that calls may be recorded or monitored.

For the post, the same document gives "VitalityLife Customer Services, PO Box 619, Darlington, DL1 9FH". The document adds: "It will help if you give your name, address and plan number." Have those in front of you whichever route you pick.

Some jobs have their own contact details. Cancelling is one: in the provisions archived on 21 February 2026 it is phone 0800 030 4903, email VitalityLife_CreditControl@vitality.co.uk, or post to VitalityLife, PO Box 619, Darlington, DL1 9FH, and the effects of cancelling a life policy are covered elsewhere. Assigning your rights under the plan to someone else needs written notice to Vitality Life Limited at the same PO Box, and until that notice arrives Vitality will not change who is entitled to benefits.

A claim after a death, or on serious illness cover, is a different conversation from an address change, and the route for it sits on our page about claiming on a Vitality life policy.

What is Member Zone, and what can you do in it?

Member Zone is the online area that Vitality gives customers. The provisions say: "When you purchase a product from Vitality you will be provided with access to the Member Zone where you can manage your marketing preferences and choose your preferred method of receiving information about our products, services and the benefits at any time."

The same document names it as a route for contact: you can "send us a secure message via our Member Zone", which Vitality offers as an alternative to phoning the number on your certificate of insurance.

To sign in, Vitality's rewards page, in the copy archived on 12 October 2026, has a log-in menu that asks you to choose between Member Zone, Employer Zone and Adviser Zone; a policyholder picks Member Zone. The same page lists a "Member Zone and app guide" among its support links, and that guide is where to start if registration or a password gives you trouble.

Is there a Vitality app for life insurance?

There is a Vitality app, and it belongs to the Vitality health programme. Vitality's rewards page, in the copy archived on 12 October 2026, tells new members to "Download the Vitality UK app and connect your phone or fitness tracker", then to get active and earn points, with bigger rewards the more points you earn.

Under the provisions, everyone starts at Bronze Vitality Status and can move up to Silver, Gold or Platinum by looking after their health, with greater discounts and rewards the higher the status. How status can change a premium is on our page about Vitality life cover, and the watch offer has its own page on Vitality's Apple Watch deal.

Whether the app also shows your plan schedule or lets you change policy details is a good thing to ask when a broker returns your call; send the form on this page first, and that explanation is free.

Other insurers handle this differently. Our pages on the Zurich life insurance app and the LV= life insurance app show what those firms offer.

What can you change on a Vitality plan, and how?

Start by telling Vitality in writing, by secure message or by phone, with your plan number. For a change of name or address, ask Vitality which evidence it wants. A broker can say what that usually involves, at no cost, when they return your call.

Payments follow your schedule. Premiums are paid monthly or annually in advance, monthly ones by direct debit, and a missed premium means Vitality suspends the covers in your plan. If that happens, you can ask Vitality to reinstate the plan within seven months of the first unpaid premium, but only if you pay what is outstanding, give a new direct debit instruction and complete a reinstatement application form, so that Vitality can underwrite the request. It may offer revised terms or decline the request.

Changes to cover are made by applying. The provisions list what you can apply to do, including increasing covers, removing or reducing them and changing the fixed term. If you increase cover, Vitality "may subject your request for increase to underwriting", so a change that looks small can bring health questions. If Vitality changes the plan terms in a way it considers to your disadvantage, it says it will tell you in writing at least 60 days before the change takes effect, or give as much notice as it can if that is not possible; changes needed to meet regulatory requirements are outside that promise.

Where are your policy documents and terms?

Three documents are worth keeping together. The certificate of insurance carries the phone number Vitality tells you to use. The plan schedule, which Vitality says it sends on each anniversary, shows any change to your premiums. The Personal Protection Plan Provisions are the full terms.

The provisions say they explain the covers and options in your plan, how premiums are paid and how to claim. They are a long PDF, so use the section letters to find a topic: managing your plan is part D, general terms are part F.

Each copy of the provisions carries an edition code in its small print; the copy archived in February 2026 shows VLTD174857WF_J3779_02/2025. Check that the copy you read matches the one sent with your plan. If you cannot find your paperwork, the contact routes in the first section are where to ask for copies.

What if you need to complain, or you live abroad?

For a complaint, the provisions say you can write, phone or send a secure message through Member Zone. Vitality says it will acknowledge a complaint promptly, name who is dealing with it, and send an update every four weeks while the investigation runs. If the two of you cannot agree, the free Financial Ombudsman Service is the next step, and the provisions say to approach it within six months of Vitality's final decision. Vitality is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Living abroad changes some things. The provisions say "You cannot increase covers if you are resident outside the United Kingdom", and that payments to or from Vitality must use a bank account registered in the United Kingdom, in pounds sterling. Whether an existing policy continues to pay out if you move is a separate question that depends on your terms, and our page on whether life insurance covers you abroad goes through it.

A house move or an overseas job on the horizon is worth mentioning when a broker rings after your form request, since moving can affect which covers and payment routes stay available to you.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Vitality life insurance phone number?

The plan provisions archived on 21 February 2026 give 0345 601 0072 for questions about the plan, and say to have your plan number ready. Check it against your certificate of insurance and Vitality's current website.

Can I download my Vitality life insurance terms and conditions?

Vitality publishes its Personal Protection Plan Provisions, the full terms, as a PDF. Read the edition that matches your own plan, and ask Vitality for a copy if the code on your paperwork differs.

What do I send Vitality after changing my surname?

Write to Vitality, or send a secure message through Member Zone, quoting your plan number, and ask what proof of the new name it wants before you post any documents.

What should I tell Vitality if I am emigrating?

Tell Vitality before you go. Under the provisions archived in February 2026, covers cannot be increased while you live outside the United Kingdom, and payments to or from Vitality must use a UK-registered bank account, in pounds sterling.

Is the Member Zone the same as the Vitality app?

Not quite. The provisions describe the Member Zone as the place for secure messages and marketing preferences, while Vitality's rewards page (archived 12 October 2026) presents the app as the way to connect a phone or fitness tracker and earn points. Vitality covers both in one support guide.
